Stacey is inspired by nature. A very curious child, she spent endless hours outside
her parent's home in the woods and gardens exploring and discovering. Later this
curiosity led her as far as the pristine Equatorial Rainforest of Gabon (as Peace
Corps Volunteer) to the stark desert of New Mexico (as an Indian Pueblo Youth
Worker) and finally back to the seasons of Maryland. There experiences reinforced
and diversified Stacey’s sensitivity to the natural world and inspire the shape, line,
form and function she incorporates into her designs.
Designing with the metal, wax, and stones is fascinating to Stacey. The process
involved in understating their properties, limitations and strengths is exciting and
challenging to her. She says it is a constant process of trial and error, discovery
and expansion.
What she strives for are pieces that are accessible, beautiful and meaningful for
the wearer. Stacey hopes that you'll find them so!
