| Morning & Jim Nichols are two San Francisco based musicians who are known for their versatility and mastery of their art. They have been performing together in many settings since 1982. They have four CDs on GSP Recordings to their credit; "My Flame" and "Unconditional Love," Jim's solo work, "Jazz and Country" and their newest ensemble release, "Save Your Love for Me." |

| Morning is an attractive and vivacious song stylist whose sound is pure and compelling. She has performed extensively at a variety of concerts, clubs, and festivals. Morning has performed with Mark Murphy, Chet Atkins, Martin Taylor, Les Brown Big Band, and others. She was featured for seven years with the acclaimed Full Faith & Credit Big Band and has taught vocal clinics in Europe and the U.S., including Grammy in the Schools in San Francisco. Just Jazz Guitar says: "…great voice – warm, sultry, and intense. She can swing with the best of them…" Among other venues, Morning has performed at: o Monterey Jazz Festival o Mabel Mercer West Coast Cabaret Convention Jim’s impressive credentials include appearances on television, radio, concert halls, and clubs including Carnegie Hall and the Tonight Show. He has played and/or recorded with Kenny Rankin, Chet Atkins, Hubert Laws, Buddy Montgomery, Van Morrison, Toots Thielemans, Tom Waits, and others. Jim has taught clinics in the U.S. and in Europe including Stanford and Jamie Aebersold Jazz Workshops. He was featured at the ’97 Django Reinhardt Festival in France with the great European guitarists, Romane and Martin Taylor. Jim is featured on "World of Fingerstyle Jazz Guitar" for Stefan Grossman’s Guitar Workshop and has a Jazz Guitar instruction video on Bransong Music. His solo CD was chosen by Guitar Player Magazine as a "Pick of the Year" for ’96 and in January of 2001, Jim was interviewed in Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine. Chet Atkins said in his autobiography Me and My Guitars: "And I know, as the torch is passed, our beloved instrument is in good hands with players like Jerry Reed, Tommy Emmanuel, Richard Smith, Jim Nichols, and Doyle Dykes". The Nichols’ have performed in many settings since 1982 including: o Olympia Theatre, Paris o Chet Atkins/Dadi Festival in Issoudun, France o Open Strings Festival , Germany o Chet Atkins Appreciation Society (CAAS), Nashville o Home of the Legends, Kentucky o Acoustic Guitar International, Italy o Midnight Sun Festival, Finland Jim Nichols plays a signature model Bill Hollenbeck guitar, a Taylor 914-C acoustic steel-string, a custom Morris guitar, and a Kirk Sand nylon-string Hollenbeck Taylor 914-C acoustic/electric guitar. He also uses an AER Acousticube guitar amplifier. Morning Nichols plays a Morris guitar, as well as the Taylor and Kirk Sand guitars listed above. |
